Many talented artists performed for the Eric Mahlum Benefit and helped make it a great success on Saturday, 11/14 at the VFW in Montevideo, MN. Included in the artist lineup was Steve Barber, principal member in Lame Johnny Creek and accompanied by Carline Barber on backup vocals for an acoustic version of the title track of the latest Lame Johnny Creek Album Standing In The Rain.

First order of Standing In The Rain CDs have arrived. I know, no one orders physical media anymore. Well, I still do but maybe I'm old fashioned. I thought it was a big leap going from cassette to CD a while back.

The new album will be compilation of songs written over the last 7 years. Lessons were learned resulting in a completely revamped writing process which I hope listeners will appreciate. The new writing process comes down to one instrument and one voice comes first before anything else happens. In essence the song has to stand on it's own first.
